Home made bath bombs
Ingredients (base mixture):
-
3 cups bicarbonate of soda.
-
1 cup citric acid.
-
5
tablespoons sweet almond oil.
-
Food colouring.
-
Essential oils (scent/s of your choice).
Method:
-
Make sure all the equipment you use is
completely dry.
-
Combine bicarbonate of soda with citric acid
in a bowl.
-
Pour sweet almond oil into a small bowl, add
food colouring & essential oils to suit.
-
Mix the oil/colour mix in with the dry
ingredients of bicarbonate of soda & citric
acid.
-
Using your hands, mix the ingredients
together until well blended. You can either
place the mix into a soap mould or you can
use your hands to shape into balls. The size
is entirely up to you. Aim for between the
size of a golf ball & a tennis ball. If you
are using soap moulds, rub sweet almond oil
along the sides before placing the mixture
in them to prevent them from sticking. If
you are not using moulds, place the balls
onto a sheet of baking paper.
-
Leave the mixture for 24 hours to dry.
Notes:
·
You can different scented/coloured balls to suit
or one batch using one single flavour/scent.
·
You can dried petals such as rose or lavender
for a prettier look.
·
Try to match the colour with the scent, ie;
green for lime, purple for lavender etc.
·
Nice essential oils to use include; bergamot,
lavender, rose, lime, chamomile, peppermint.
·
Don’t go crazy with either the food colouring or
the essential oils. Add these a small amount at
a time until you have the right combination.
