Chocolate brownies

 

Chocolate brownies.

Ingredients:

  • 125g butter
  • 125g dark chocolate, chopped
  • 200g soft brown sugar
  • 3 eggs, lightly beaten
  • 50g plain flour
  • 50g cocoa powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking powder
  • 150g walnuts
  • Small amount of butter to grease
  • Icing sugar (to dust)

Method:

  • Preheat oven to 180˚C.
  • Grease an 18 x 28 cm rectangular cake tin and line with baking paper.
  • Place sugar, chocolate & butter into a glass bowl, over a pan of simmering water & slowly melt. Stirring constantly. 
  • Remove from heat, beat in the eggs.
  • Add sifted flour, cocoa powder & baking powder & mix.
  • Stir in the walnuts.
  • Pour mixture into cake tin. Bake for approximately 20 minutes until the mixture is set. Test with a fork.
  • Set aside to cool.
  • Dust with icing sugar, cut into rectangles & serve.
