Ripening Avocados

• Place the unripe avocado in a brown paper bag for 2-3 days. Store at room temperature. Check the avocado daily.

• For faster ripening, add an apple or banana to the paper bag and seal. The fruit gives off ethylene gas which speed up the ripening process.

Once ripened, store in a refrigerator until needed.

How to check the ripeness of an avocado:

A ripe avocado should feel slightly soft when gently squeezed but it should not be soft.
