Macaroni
cheese

Ingredients:
-
300g macaroni.
-
4 bacon rashers,
chopped coarsely.
-
50g butter.
-
1/3 cup of plain flour.
-
1 litre of hot milk.
-
1 1/2 cups of coarsely
grated cheddar cheese.
-
2 tablespoons of
wholegrain mustard.
-
1/2 cup of stale
breadcrumbs.
-
20g butter, chopped
(extra).
-
Salt & pepper to taste.
Method:
-
Preheat oven to 200°C.
-
Cook pasta in a large
saucepan of boiling water until tender.
Remove & drain.
-
Cook bacon in frying
pan until crisp.
-
Melt butter in the same
pan, add flour, cook stirring for 1 minute.
Gradually add the milk, stirring continually
until sauce thickens.
-
Add cheese & mustard.
-
Add cooked pasta, bacon
& cheese sauce together into an oven proof
dish.
-
Add salt & pepper to
taste.
-
Top with breadcrumbs &
extra butter.
-
Cook for approximately
30 minutes, or until top is browned.
