How
To Remove Mould From Walls
Overview:
Mould is a fungal organism that thrives in dark,
warm & moist environments with poor ventilation
such as bathrooms & basements.
Mould removal products may be purchased from
your hardware store, however I have recently had
great success removing mould from our bedroom
ceiling using the method below.
What you will need:
-
1 spray bottle
-
Bleach
-
Dishwashing detergent
-
Bucket
-
Sponge (with scourer)
-
Eye goggles
-
Rubber gloves
Safety:
-
Always use rubber gloves, eye protection & a
mask when removing mould & mildew.
-
Always make sure rooms are well ventilated
when using chemicals such as bleach.
-
Don’t attempt to remove dry mildew with a
brush. You will shower yourself with mould
spores.
Remove mould from walls & tiles:
-
Add around 1/5 cup of bleach to a 500ml
spray bottle & fill with warm water.
-
Add a squirt of dishwashing liquid to a
bucket of hot water.
-
Using the spray bottle, spray the bleach
solution onto the mildew.
-
Leave for around 30 seconds & then using
your sponge, wipe off.
-
Clean sponge in bucket, wipe again until
mould is gone.
