Stocking a Medicine Cabinet

It
is a good idea to have a basic medicine cabinet
in preparation for sickness or minor injuries.
Never give children or pets medicines designed
for adults & don't give medications that have
been prescribed for somebody else.
Make a note of important phone numbers such as
the poisons hotline, your local GP, dentist &
hospital, including after hours numbers.
Do not mix medications, be aware that pregnant &
nursing mothers can not take certain
medications. Read instructions carefully. Only
take the recommended dosage. Always check the
use by date on medications & discard if they
have expired. Also be aware that if you are
suffering from any pre-existing medical
conditions you can not take certain over the
counter medications. Always check with your GP.
Please note: The medications listed in this
article are for adults.
Where to store medicine:
A designated medicine cabinet is the best place
to store medicine. Make sure it can not be
accessed by young children. It should be located
in a cool, dry place to prevent medications
deteriorating.
